Finding-Aid for the Boron Papers [00150]

Collection Description

Papers

2 items

Access: Open

Credited with writing the Arthurian trilogy of Joseph of Arimathea, Merlin, and Perceval, DeBoron’s works (ca. 1200 AD) had an immense influence on the development of the legend of the Holy Grail and in the evolution of Arthurian literature as a whole. His prose romances give a crucial new impetus to the story of the Grail by establishing a provenance for the sacred vessel - and for the Round Table itself - in the Biblical past.

The collection consists of two parchment fragments of the text of de Boron’s Merlin.
