Objective of the Shelving Unit

The primary objective of the Shelving Unit is to provide a high level of service to Library users by making the 1.4 million volumes in Olin Library accessible through the prompt and accurate shelving of all materials. This includes making sure materials are well cared for while on the shelf as well as shifting collections as they grow and periodic shelf reading to ensure materials are shelved in the correct order. We are currently in the midst of major shifting projects throughout the library due renovation . The Shelving Unit also provides directional signs and range guides to assist Library users in locating materials.

The major collections maintained by the Shelving Unit include:

General Stacks - Levels 3, 2, A and B:

Education Curriculum - Level 2 Government Documents - Level B
