    Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
    Closed Saturdays and Sundays.
    Closed July 4.

  • Library Inventory - The annual inventory of Physics Library material was done in May. Twenty six books have been identified as lost or missing. Books that are missing two years in a row, or paid for by the patron who lost it, are considered to be lost. Books which are now considered lost are listed below or can be found at: [http://catalog.wustl.edu/search/r?SEARCH=Physics+Library+Lost+Books]. Please check the list to see if there are any lost books which should be replaced and let me know.

    • 2000 solved problems in electromagnetics / by Syed A. Nasar (1992)
    • The astronomical universe / Struve, Otto (1958)
    • Instrumental traditions and theories of light : the uses of instruments in the optical revolution / by Xiang Chen. (2000)
    • Laser optoacoustics / V.E. Gusev, A.A. Karabutov (1993)
    • Schaum's outline of electromagnetics / by Joseph Edminister. (1979)
    • Statistical mechanics / R. K. Pathria (2nd ed., 1996)
    • Thermodynamics, kinetic theory, and statistical thermodynamics / Francis W. Sears, Gerhard L. Salinger. (1975)
    • Variational principles / B.L. Moiseiwitsch (1966)

In addition to the 8 lost books, there are 17 other books which are missing. That list can be found at: [http://catalog.wustl.edu/search/r?SEARCH=Physics+Library+Missing+Books].
Any help in recovering any of these titles will be greatly appreciated.

  • Attention Fall Physics course instructors! If there are books or other materials which I need to order for reserve please notify me as soon as possible. Also if you have selected a new textbook or a new edition, please let me know. I do not receive the information which you send to the bookstore. Thank you!

  • Recently published papers in Physics - The following paper was recently indexed and published by members of the Physics Department:

    • Title: How accurately can the parameters from a model of anisotropic 3He gas diffusion in lung acinar airways be estimated? Bayesian view
      Author(s): Sukstanskii, A.L.; Bretthorst, G.L.; Chang, Y.V.; Conradi, M.S.; Yablonskiy, D.A.
