- Scitable
- Nature Publishing Group has announced the launch of a free online science education resource
for university faculty and students called Scitable. It’s built on a foundation of
evidence-based, faculty-reviewed scientific overviews of key concepts compiled by the
editorial staff of NPG. The first module is on genetics.
- Physicists
Set Plan in Motion to Change Publishing System - In what some are calling a peaceful revolution,
researchers have mounted a takeover of high-energy-physics publishing. One signature at a time, national
research agencies and university libraries have pledged to support a new system of publishing in high-energy
physics that would replace expensive subscriptions to journals with membership in a nonprofit group. The
group is called Scoap³, the Sponsoring Consortium for Open Access Publishing in Particle Physics.
