Interlibrary loan allows Washington University students, faculty and staff to obtain materials that are not held by the University Libraries.
Please check the WU Libraries Catalog before requesting materials from outside sources.

Requesting Articles
ArticleReach Direct
ArticleReach Direct works much like Interlibrary Loan (below) and is often faster for locating articles. Articles are posted to your account in My Catalog usually within 2-3 days. You can also use My Catalog to check on the status of your ArticleReach Direct requests.

Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad)
Use Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) to obtain books, articles, and other research materials you need. Most articles will be posted electronically in your ILLiad account usually within 3-7 days. Books and other materials are available for pickup usually within 1-2 weeks at the Olin Library checkout desk.
You will be notified by e-mail when the material arrives.

Requesting Books
MOBIUS
Use MOBIUS to borrow books from other academic libraries in Missouri. Most books are available for pickup at the WU library of your choice usually within 3-7 days.
The WU library you choose as a pickup location will notify you when the item arrives. You can also use My Catalog to check on the status of your MOBIUS requests.

Other Libraries Borrowing from WUSTL
Olin Library supplies loans and photocopies of materials to libraries and other organizations.
Libraries may submit requests via OCLC to our symbol WTU. Non-OCLC libraries can register with us and logon via ILLiad to submit an ILL request.
