Using NJStar Communicator

1. Go to Start.
2. Choose Program.
3. Click Startup menu.
4. Click NJStar Communicator.
A NJStar Icon will be displayed at the
right bottom of the screen, and a NJStar CJK Viewer Bar will be
started automatically and displayed on the top right corner of
the screen.
If you can not see the Viewer Bar, you may
point the mouse cursor at the NJStar Icon and click the right
button once, then click OPEN
Use NJStar to View Internet Resources
and Online Databases:
Press the second button on the Viewer Bar, and it will popup a
menu with coding selections (or use the left mouse button to
click on the NJStar Icon).

Input CJK
Click the third button on the NJStar Viewer Bar (at top right
corner of the screen), and choose Chinese Input, Japanese Input,
or Korean Input.
Or, use the right mouse button to click on the NJStar Icon down
the bottom right corner of the screen, then choose Chinese Input,
Japanese Input, or Korean Input.
Input Japanese
Text:
Type Japanese with your selected input method. Where there are a
list of more than one character / phrase to choose from, type the
number in front of the character / phrase to select. Use [SPACE]
key at any time to select the first character / phrase.
NJStar provides Romaji, Kuten, EUC-JIS, Unicode, Radical
Lookup and many other input methods.
Input Chinese Text:
Type Chinese with your selected input method. Where there are a
list of more than one character / phrase to choose from, type the
number in front of the character / phrase to select. Use [SPACE]
key at any time to select the first character / phrase.
NJStar provides Standard Pinyin, Double Pinyin, Zhuyin, Cantonese, Radical Lookup and many other input methods.
Pinyin is the primary input method for NJStar. The default
Pinyin input mode uses Alt+1, Alt+2, Alt+3, Alt+4 for the four
tones. "u umlaut" is entered as uu or v (for
instance, [Girl] is coded as nuu3), however, "u umlaut" after j, q, x, or y is entered as u.
Rather than enter Pinyin word by word, user may try to input by phrase when
possible. To select a character or phrase, press the
corresponding number.
Switch CJK Input to English
Input:
Use the right mouse button to click on the input button (2nd
button to the left end of the Input Bar) to switch between CJK
and ASCII mode, or press "Ctrl" key to
switch. Input Bar is displayed at the bottom of the
windows.
Close Input Bar:
Click the third button on the Viewer bar (at top right corner of
the screen), and choose Close All Input to close the Input
bar.
