Lost Books and Replacement Charges
Borrowers who have lost books will be charged for their replacement. Charges for unreturned library materials are intended to help the library replace such materials and make them available for future use. A non-refundable $15.00 replacement fee is charged in addition to the replacement cost. If the book is subsequently found, the replacement cost will be refunded or credited but the replacement fee will remain. MOBIUS items have a replacement cost of $120.00 Payment made by a borrower under these circumstances in no way implies transfer of ownership of library property. Lost and unreturned items remain the property of the library.

Recalls
What is a Recall? Click here.
Only authorized borrowers may place recalls. A book may be recalled from another borrower after it has been on loan for a minimum of two weeks. Recalled item due dates will automatically change to precede the original due dates. Books needed for reserve are recalled immediately.

Searches
Patrons may request searches for books that cannot be located in the general collection by requesting the book directly from the catalog. When found, the books will be held at Circulation and the patron will be notified. If the books are not found within several days, the patron will be informed, even though the searching process will continue for three months if necessary.

Lockers, and Faculty Studies
Olin Library Day Locker, Lockable Bookshelf, and Faculty Study Policy
Library materials kept in lockers and faculty studies must be charged out or the materials will be removed. It is the responsibility of the borrower to charge out books at the Check-out Desk and either return or renew them when they are due.
