Biol Review Serials

Biology Review Serials are shelved alphabetically by title on the upper level of the Biology Library at #12 on the map.

This is a small collection of serials, mostly annuals, which contain review articles. A review article is an article, published in a journal, annual or book, that reviews the current body of scholarly research on a particular subject. Usually they contain extensive bibliographies or reference sections, so they can be very helpful especially when you are beginning to research a subject.

Biol Review Serials can be checked out for up to 2 weeks. A Washington University ID is required.

Review Serials

There are also review articles in many journals which are not shelved in the Review Serials area. Most journal indexes include search techniques to limit to review articles, for example in PubMed, you can LIMIT to Review as a Publication Type or you can use the Systematic Review Filter, for example, "arabidopsis AND systematic[sb]"

If you can't find what you are looking for, check the Catalog or ask at the Help Desk [#4 on map].
