About the Sympodiums

The Arc Lab and the Presentation Room have Sympodiums, made by Smart Technologies. A Sympodium is an interactive screen with a battery-free stylus. The interactive screen is connected to a computer and displays the desktop image. Using the attached stylus, simply touch the screen to control applications and write notes. With a projector displaying this image on a larger presentation screen, your audience can easily follow along.

You can specify stylus function using the Pen Tool buttons located on the console. Choose between black, blue, red or green electronic ink (or custom colors), an eraser, or a left or right mouse click.

The installed SMART Board software allows you to write over top of any computer application, edit your notes and save everything in a single file. The software bundle features Notebook software, which captures annotations and saves object-oriented notes, SMART Recorder, which saves audio and data for playback as a synchronized file, and SMART Video Player, which enables you to write over top of moving or still video.
