IBSS: International Bibliography of the Social Sciences (1951- )
"Online resource for social science and interdisciplinary research. IBSS includes over two million bibliographic references to journal articles and to books, reviews and selected chapters dating back to 1951. It is unique in its broad coverage of international material and incorporates over 100 languages and countries. Over 2,800 journals are regularly indexed and some 7,000 books are included each year. Abstracts are provided for half of all current journal articles and full text availability is continually increasing."

Social Sciences Citation Index, via Web of Science (1988- )
A multidisciplinary database, with searchable author abstracts, covering the journal literature of the social sciences. Indexes 1,700 journals spanning 50 disciplines, as well as covering individually selected, relevant items from over 3,300 of the world's leading scientific and technical journals. Updated weekly.
Backfiles available in print: 1965-1987, shelved in Olin, Level B, Call Number: Z7161 S64.

Journal index. Indexes current research focused on social work, human services, and related areas, including social welfare, social policy, and community development.
Academic Search Premier (mostly 1975- ;some coverage prior to 1975)
Full-text. Journal index. Scholarly, multi-disciplinary database containing full text for more than 4,650 publications, including more than 3,600 peer-reviewed publications. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for all 8,183 journals in the collection.

Indexes nearly 290 alternative, radical, and left periodicals, newspapers and magazines that report and analyze the practices and theories of cultural, economic, political, and social change. Produced quarterly by the Alternative Press Center.

Annual Reviews - Social Sciences (Annual Reviews)
Provides citations to articles in social sciences journals. To search only social sciences journals, enter search terms, go to "Publications," highlight "Social Sciences," and click on "Search." Articles are not available online through this database, but many are accessible by using the Fulltext Electronic Journal Holdings page and in the Libraries.

Provides access to "major Asian Studies' research resources recorded by the HotBot database." Has links to search engines on 16 Asian Pacific countries.
ASSIA: Applied Social Sciences Index and Abstracts
Journal Index. Covers health, social services, psychology, sociology, economics, politics, race relations, and education. Updated monthly, ASSIA provides a comprehensive source of social science and health information.

Contains references to western-language monographs, articles, and book chapters on all parts of Asia published since 1971.

CLASE indexes documents published in Latin American journals specializing in the social sciences and humanities. PERIÓDICA covers journals specializing in science and technology. Contemporary Women's Issues (OCLC)
Journal index. Provides full-text access to global information on women from journals, newsletters, and research reports from non-profit groups, government and international agencies, and fact sheets. From 1992 to present, and updated 26 times/year.
Dissertations & Theses (ProQuest)
Covers 1861-present, updated monthly. Abstracts for doctoral dissertations included from July, 1980; abstracts for masters theses beginning Spring, 1988. The citations are the same as in Dissertation Abstracts Online (DAO) from FirstSearch, but the ProQuest version also has 24-page previews for many dissertations and theses.
Ethnic Newswatch (1990 - )
Indexes a full-text collection of the newspapers, magazines and journals of the ethnic, minority and native press, covering many subject areas ranging from the more focused ethnic area studies to the arts, business, education, the environment, history, journalism, political science, and sociology.
Handbook of Latin American Studies (HLAS Online) (Library of Congress)
Provides abstracts and complete bibliographic information for published materials about Latin America on a wide range of topics in the humanities and social sciences. HLAS Online has information about the handbook, and a link to the online version. Also available on CD-ROM covering 1936-1994 (Ask at the Olin Level 1 Help Desk), and in print, 1936 to date (shelved on Level B, Z1605 H23).
HAPI (Hispanic American Periodicals Index)(1970- )
Journal index. Article citations about Central America, South America, the Caribbean, Mexico, Brazil, and Hispanics/Latinos in the United States. Subjects covered are in the social sciences and the humanities.
IBZ Online (1983- )
Journal index. An index of periodical literature covering basic research from all fields of knowledge. Particularly strong in the humanities and the social sciences.
ICPSR: Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research
Information about and ftp access to computer data files in the social sciences, including election results, polls, surveys, and the census. These massive data sets can be manipulated at the Social Sciences Computing Facility in Eliot 111.

Journal index. Provides indexing and abstracts from books and journals and other materials for worldwide coverage of population, family planning, and related health issues. Updated twice monthly.
Social Science Research Network (SSRN)
"A worldwide collaborative of several hundred leading scholars that is devoted to the rapid worldwide dissemination of social science research. It is composed of a number of specialized research networks in each of the social sciences. Each of SSRN's networks encourages the early distribution of research results by reviewing and publishing submitted abstracts and by soliciting abstracts of top quality research papers around the world... SSRN's email abstracting journals cover 60 different subject areas. The Abstract Database contains information on over 21,000 scholarly working papers and forthcoming papers. The Electronic Paper collection currently contains over 8,500 downloadable electronic documents in Adobe Acrobat pdf format."

University of Michigan Institute for Social Research (ISR)
Acts "as an umbrella organization for several units, including the Survey Research Center, Research Center for Group Dynamics, Population Studies Center, Center for Political Studies, and Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research. Social Watch (The Third World Institute)
"Social Watch is an international network informed by national citizens' groups aiming at following up the fulfillment of the internationally agreed commitments on poverty eradication and equality. These national groups report, through the national Social Watch report, on the progress - or regression- towards these commitments and goals."
