Biology Dissertations
Locating Washington University Dissertations
- Records for WU theses and dissertations can be found in the Catalog. Paper copies of biology dissertations, through approximately 2008, are at West Campus Library. The libraries do not have PAPER copies after 2008.
- Masters theses after 2009 are available in OpenScholarship.wustl.edu if the author has permitted distribution there.
- PhD dissertations after 2009 are available in OpenScholarship.wustl.edu if the author has permitted distribution there. But I recommend Dissertations & Theses @ Washington University in St. Louis for more search features and access to fulltext.
- Some Biology Senior Honors Theses, 2000-2010, are kept on reserve. Some Biology Senior Honors Theses, 2011+ are available online; fulltext is only available to WU users.
- Search by author, for example, Olson, Paul David
- Search by keyword, for example,
phenotype plasticity and manihot
or perhaps theses and manihot - Search by department, by using a title search beginning with
the word Theses....
This approach can be useful, but specific dissertations may not be where you expect. This indexing is based on what the author put on the title page, so entries are not always consistent or correct. For example, many dissertations are under "Theses. Biology and Biomedical Sciences" instead of the specific department.- Theses. Bio...
