  1. Campus libraries
  2. Vocabulary
  3. Quick Links at http://becker.wustl.edu - a few will only work at the medical campus; most will work for all WU users
    • Clinical Evidence - summarizes latest research
    • Cochrane Library - includes the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews
    • EBM - Evidence Based Medicine links
    • MD Consult - click on Open Generic Account button
40 online reference books, searchable; an interface with Medline plus additional fulltext links; other features, e.g., patient handouts might be useful when you are really new to a subject
    • Medline Plus - a search engine from the NLM and NIH
    • Stat!Ref - searchable online textbooks
    • Ovid: For access go to a Danforth campus library or Becker Medical Library. Staff will enter their username/password; occasionally Becker staff will issue a 1-day pass.
Medline; Books@Ovid: Washington Manual of Medical Therapeutics and Washington Manual of Surgery; Journals@Ovid Full Text
    • PIER, Physicians' Information and Education Resource, "evidence-based guidance to improve clinical care" from American College of Physicians. To access, go to Clinical Pharmacology and click on "Resource Center"
    • PubMed: freely available
Boolean operators need to be entered in uppercase
If you retrieve too much, try Clinical Queries filters
Fulltext icons usually work; we have access to additional fulltext also.
    • EMBASE - seems to be working on both Danforth and medical campus currently; searches Medline (1966+) plus EMBASE (1974+), with duplicate records between the two databases removed; EMBASE is more international in scope than Medline and is especially know for its coverage of drugs and pharmacology.
    • CINAHL, 1982+; journals and publications in nursing and allied health; restricted to 8 concurrent users; may be Medical Campus only although it has worked for me on the Danforth campus.
