Services for Visitors and Other Users: Students and Faculty from Other Institutions
All Washington University Libraries are open to the public, although some libraries are open only to Washington University students and faculty in the evening. While students and faculty members from other institutions are welcome to use library resources on-site, borrowing privileges are limited to:
MOBIUS members
Washington University is a member of MOBIUS, a consortium of over 60 college, university and public libraries in Missouri. Students and faculty members at other MOBIUS institutions can check out books using their university ID.
MOBIUS users who do not live in the St. Louis area are encouraged to request items via the MOBIUS catalog and have them delivered to their home library, rather than checking them out in person.
HEC Cardholders
Washington University is a member of the Higher Education Center (HEC) of St. Louis. Full-time faculty members at other HEC institutions may check out books from Washington University Libraries by obtaining an HEC Card. Ask your library about the HEC Card program.
OCLC Borrower's Card
Washington University participates in the OCLC reciprocal borrowing program. Faculty members at other OCLC academic libraries may check out books from Washington University Libraries by obtaining an OCLC card. Faculty members must request the card from their institution’s library. If you are not sure if your library participates in OCLC, please go to http://www.oclc.org/contacts/libraries/. The card only allows for borrowing books. The card does not permit interlibrary loan and remote access to electronic resources.
INFO-PASS Users
Students at colleges and universities in the St. Louis area may check out books from Washington University Libraries with an INFO-PASS. Ask your library if it participates in the INFO-PASS program.
