June 28, 2002--Looking into the atrium from Level 1: A large crane lifts steel beams to the roof where iron workers attach them to form the superstructure which will cap the atrium.

June 28, 2002--Looking into the atrium from Level 2: Workers wear the tools they need in their belts and change the tie-off point of their tethers as they move across the work area.

June 28, 2002--Level 3: A steel column set in the center of the atrium forms the core of a "tree" which will be a focal point of the Cybercafé. The top of the column is seen here through the south window of the Level 3 reading room.

June 28, 2002--southeast of Olin: Two levels below the main level, carpenters create a work area where they can assemble sections of a form for pouring concrete. Besides using scaffolding and ladders, they build a bridge to reach the area.

June 28, 2002--southeast of Olin: Concrete will be poured between the sides of the form. After the concrete sets, the form is removed and the reinforced vertical shaft is complete and ready for ductwork
