May 13, 2002--west of Olin: Two workers carry a roll of chain-link fencing which is used to surround and protect objects from construction equipment.

May 13, 2002--west of Olin: While a few trees on the south side of Olin were removed for access to the new entrance, other trees in the construction area are sheltered by chain-link fencing.

May 21, 2002--east of Olin: Entrance to Olin Library is still on the east side of the building through a walkway bordered by the construction fence.

May 21, 2002--south of Olin: Once the spring semester is over, construction picks up speed. Five mini-excavators work to remove concrete from the apron surrounding Olin.

May 21, 2002--west of Olin: A mini-excavator dumps a load of broken concrete. Inside the library, vibrations and noise from equipment are testimony to the renovation. Many library users and staff take advantage of the offer at the Circulation desk for free ear plugs.
