October 24, 2002--Level 1: Orange spray paint marks a wall for demolition in the former office of the Dean of Libraries. This space will be part of the new display area for Special Collections after renovation.

October 24, 2002--Level 1: In the former reception area of the administrative offices, two sheet metal workers support a duct, during removal, with a hydraulic lift. Behind them is the front door where visitors entered the offices.

October 27, 2002--Level 1: Demolition continues for several days. To keep distrubances to a minimum, most of the work is completed after Olin is closed. The front door and wall of the administrative offices shown in a picture taken October 24 (above) are gone in this picture taken Ocotber 27.

October 27, 2002--Level 1: Rubble from the demolition includes pallets of rescued stones removed from the outer (former) wall of Olin. The ceiling clearly shows where the inside of the building and the outside of the building once met; the coffered ceiling of the old overhang is now part of the expanded area of Level 1.
