September 4, 2002--north of Olin: Working outside the new north wall of Olin, two glaziers climb ladders in tandem to mount long strips of molding over the outer edges of the glass panels.

September 4, 2002--north of Olin: A laborer (blue jeans) delivers an armload of lumber to a workbench outside of the northeast stairway. Carpenters (white jeans) nail up a temporary wall across the stairway and frame in offices as temporary quarters for library staff during the renovation of Level 1.

September 4, 2002--southeast of Olin: After fabricating a section of metal grid wall for the Cybercafe, two glaziers transfer the grid from the workbench to a pile awaiting installation.

September 4, 2002--east of Olin: A demolition team dismantles what used to be the alcove next to the main entrance which previously housed the public and campus phones and a drinking fountain.

September 10, 2002--souteast of Olin: One electrician hoists a gear box while another lies next to the base to threads wires through openings. They are preparing the gear boxes for installation on Level A at 5 am tomorrow morning.
